Supahstars

On our way to the Great Wall on our first day, our tour guide warned us that there were a lot of visitors to the Wall are from the country and, since they only get to see light hair on TV, they would want to take pictures of/with us. That was a huge understatement--people would take paparazzi shots, follow us around with their cameras, pose in front or behind us, or just plain stop us and make us pose with them. It happened all of the time, but one of the most impressive was in Forbidden City. 5 of us (all girls) sat down in a line on a ledge in the middle of the square...people immediately started swooping in from all sides like seagulls...

They had their cameras and camera phones out...one guy video taped us...
One man wanted a close up...
This guy posed behind us...at the same time a woman came over to one girl and ordered her to stand up and smile...
This guy posed in front using us as a backdrop. So funny! We felt like celebrities.
